UDISE+ Modules and the Data Capture Format (DCF) Explained

UDISE+ collects school data online, and every school fills in the same Data Capture Format (DCF). According to the UDISE+ 2024-25 report, the data is checked automatically at entry and then verified at block, district and state level.

What the DCF covers

  • School profile: name, location, category, management, academic session dates, medium of instruction.
  • Facilities: buildings, classrooms, toilets, drinking water, electricity, library, computers and internet. These feed published indicators such as the share of schools with internet access, 63.5% in 2024-25.
  • Teachers: see our teacher section guide.
  • Students: enrolment, new admissions, progression and transfers. See the student data entry guide.

Who checks the data

  1. The school enters and submits its data.
  2. The block and district check it.
  3. The state verifies it before it reaches the national system run by the Ministry of Education.

Where to get the current DCF

The DCF and its instructions are updated for each academic year. Download the current version from the official portal or get it from your block office. Do not rely on old copies or third-party PDFs.
