Short answer: every school in India uses the same official portal, udiseplus.gov.in. There is no separate UDISE+ login website for each state, and udise.net is not a login portal. If any other site asks for your UDISE+ username, password or OTP, do not enter them.
Who uses UDISE+
- Schools (Head of School or data entry staff) enter the school’s data: profile and facilities, teachers and students.
- Block, district and state admins check the data, handle requests a school cannot do itself (such as some corrections and escalated release requests), and verify submissions level by level.
- The Ministry of Education compiles the national data and publishes the annual UDISE+ report.
Getting your login
Schools do not sign up themselves. Login details for a school come through the education department, usually the block or district MIS office. A newly recognised school first needs a UDISE code; see how a new school gets a UDISE code.
Logging in, step by step
- Open udiseplus.gov.in on a computer. A desktop browser is easier for long forms.
- Choose the module you need, for example school profile, teachers or students.
- Enter the user ID and password your department issued, then the captcha.
- If the login fails, see UDISE+ login problems and fixes.
What a school can do after logging in
Based on the official functionality guide for school users, the student side includes:
- School Dashboard: classes and how many students are enrolled in each.
- School Details: School Profile (head of school, session dates, medium of instruction, language group, vocational details) and School Privileges (which functions your login has).
- Section Management, Add Student, Student Profile and Class/Section Shift.
- Student Movement and Progression: Progression Activity, Import, Transfer Module/Mark Dropout, Inactivate Student Module and Dropbox Student List.
- Student Release Request Management for students still Active in another school.
- Aadhaar MBU module and the APAAR module.
- Reporting Module, Global Student Search and Track Student.
Our student data entry guide walks through each of these in order.
Things a school cannot do alone
- Change a student’s class from Class 2 to 12 (the school can only change sections).
- Edit date of birth, gender or parents’ names after the student’s Aadhaar is verified.
- Mark a student inactive due to death.
- Get a rejected release request reconsidered more than once. Within the same state, escalation to the admin is allowed only once; for outside-state requests, a new request is needed.
For these, contact your block, district or state admin.
State education portals
Some states run their own school systems alongside UDISE+, for example Banglar Shiksha in West Bengal, SARAL in Maharashtra and SATS in Karnataka. The UDISE+ 2024-25 report notes that West Bengal keeps its own MIS and supplies its data to UDISE+ through a bulk link. For your state’s system and helpdesk, use your state education department’s official website.
